He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Livingston Allen and Helen Rogers Allen; and his brothers, Tommy Ray Allen of Arlington and William Conner Allen of Waco, Texas.. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Ann Allen; his daughter Brea Ann Cook (Jeremy) of Dallas; his granddaughters, Elise and Everly; his great grandchild Braegan Marie Darling of Lincoln; and his grandsons, Asher and Liam.

Dr. Allen was a past Affiliate Faculty Member for the Texas Affiliate of the American Heart Association and, as such, he served as medical director for multiple Dallas area Advanced Cardiac Life Support Courses.
