It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sara Sue Van Marel of Rockwall, Texas, born in Ponca City, Oklahoma, who passed away on July 16, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Dungan and Louise Allen (Wright); her parents-in-law, William and Tena Van Marel; her sister Lucille; and her brothers-in-law, Creston Hoeskstra and Robert Anthony.
She is survived by: her husband Carl Van Marel; her children, Jay Van Marel of Dallas, Jaylynn (Kevin Jeffers) of Longview, Melissa (Steven Bradley) of Tulsa and Valerie (Jay James) of Rockwall, Texas.; her siblings, Kay Anthony Rice and Bill; and her sister-in-law Kathy Van Marel. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren whom she loved dearly and 5 great grandchildren.
