He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Gloria Ann Schroeder Whitaker; his children, Jeff (Lori), Julie Matthew (Jim) and Jim (Kris); his grandchildren, Jared, Anna Whitaker, Elise Jones, Ryan, Randall and Russell Matthew; his parents, James Elbert Whitaker and Jessie Mae Doolin; and his sisters, Carolyn Whitaker White (Bill) and Gail Whitaker Chiles (John).
