He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Wendel and Mary Wendel; his wife Angela Wendel; his son Gregory Wendel; his sister Charlene Gwosdz; his brother-in-law Milton Gwosdz; and his stepson Eugene Mucka.
He is survived by: his brother Joseph Wendel; his children, Denise Lezak (Mark), Jennifer Hill (Peyton) and David Wendel (Melanie); his stepchildren, Barbara Mucka, Cynthia Mucka and Tony Mucka; and his grandchildren, Kristen Orsak, Garret Wendel, Brad Lezak, Amy Ilse, Kady Fernandez, Ryan Lezak, Jacob Lezak, Kirk Wendel, Kayla Erevia, Kevin Wendel, Dillon Hill, Savannah Hill and Morgan Hill. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (1416 George St, Rosenberg, TX 77471). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
