He was predeceased by : his father Emil Frank Silhavy; his wife Doris Jean Stehle Silhavy; his son Jeffery Silhavy; his grandparents, John, Verna Silhavy, Leo and Selma Schuelke; his mother Grace Schuelke Silhavy Loesch; his stepfather Harry Loesch; his father-in-law Martin (Norma Stehle); his siblings-in-law, Ralph, Janet Hupe and Larry Kramer (Barney); his nephew David Rose; and his brothers, Robert Silhavy, Wayne Silhavy and James Dale Silhavy.

He is survived by : his son Monte Silhavy; his grandchildren, Heather Silhavy, Zachary Silhavy and Lindsey Silhavy; his great grandchildren, Nemo Garner, Elias Riley, Zaydan Silhavy and Zaine Silhavy; his sisters, Mary Kramer, Margaret Rose, Glenda Loesch (Marvin) and Jerry Silhavy; and his sister-in-law Lisa Silhavy.
