He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Garcia and Luisa Garcia; and his wife Gudalupe "Lupita" Gracia. He is survived by: his children, Joel Garcia Jr. (Sandy), Maria Teresa Gutierrez (Waldo), Gabriela Martinez (Gilbert) and Daniela Garcia; his grandchildren, Daniel, Felix, Anthony, Joel III, Marissa, Matthew and Madison; and his great grandchildren, Riley and Zayne. He is also survived by numerous family members and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Davis Greenlawn Funeral Chapels (3900 B F Terry Blvd, Rosenberg, TX 77471). A rosary was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at the Greenlawn Memorial Park (3900 B F Terry Blvd, Rosenberg, TX 77471).
