He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Blahuta and Rose Blahuta; his sister Bernice; his brother-in-law Florian Sliva Sr.; his grandson Joseph Michael Blahuta; his parents-in-law, John and Agnes Freudensprung; his brother-in-law Wilbur Lee Freudensprung; and his nephew Carlton Freudensprung.

He is survived by: his wife Gaynell Blahuta; his children, Renee Murphy (Pat) of Sweeny, Texas and Bryan Blahuta (Heather) of East Bernard, Texas; his grandchildren, Travis Murphy (Lauren) of Angelton, April Dunn (Greg) of West Columbia and Christopher Blahuta of East Bernard, Texas; his sister-in-law Bernice Freudensprung of Rosenberg, Texas.; and his great grandchildren, Tucker Murphy, Foster Dunn, Lochlyn Murphy, Parker Dunn, Ledger Murphy and Oliver Dunn. He is also survived by six great grandsons.
