He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Ross Short and Bernice Fuller Short; his son Wendel Ross Short; and his brother Joe Short. He is survived by: his wife Josephine Short; his daughter Pam Howard; his grandchildren, Katelyn Britton (Joel Britton), Hannah Crosley and Seth Crosley; his great grandchildren, Owen Britton, Luke Britton, Jane Britton and Amy Britton; his sisters-in-law, Genevieve Bowman, Caroline Woebse and Martha Benevelli; Scott Howard.
