He was predeceased by : his parents, Mariah Gonzalez and Jose Gonzalez; his daughter Norma; his grandson Abel Flores; his brothers, Leonel and Jose Angel Gonzalez; and his son-in-law Roy Cortez.

He is survived by : his wife Marcie Gonzalez; and his children, Gonzalez Jr. (Dianne), Adela Cortez, Lucy Garcia (Rufino), Joe Frank Gonzalez, Cindy Ramirez (Larry), Patricia Gonzalez and Margaret Gonzalez. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
