He was predeceased by : his parents, Antonio Garza and Isabel Garza (Bermudes); and his brother Dan Garza. He is survived by : his wife Ruth Garza (Ruiz); his children, Rose Garza Trevino and Benito Garza; his grandchildren, Alexandria, Amy and Toby Trevino; his great grandchild Sophia Torres; and his sister Connie Arriola (Frank). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
