We announce the death of Doyle Edward Bruce Jr. of Tyler, Texas, who passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 78. He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Edward Bruce, Sr. and Helen Slack Bruce; and his brother Bill Bruce. He is survived by: his wife Glenda Bruce; his sons, Ryan Bruce of Portland and Travis Bruce of Bayside; his sister Paula Bruce Ashworth; his siblings-in-law, Mary Ann and Johnny Patterson; and his nephews, James Ashworth, Kyle King, Del Patterson, Britt Patterson, Johnny Glen Patterson and Steven Patterson.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home (221 W 5th St, Rusk, TX 75785). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Memories Memorial Park (5205 S First St, Lufkin, TX 75901).
