He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Strappel and Bessie Strappel; and his brother Robert "Bob" Strappel. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Anthony Strappel (Nancy) and Julie Wheat (Neil); his grandson Garrett Wheat (Kelly); his great grandchildren, Walker Wheat and Cooper Wheat; and his nieces and nephews, Frank Blackmon (Clare), Robert Paul Strappel, Barbara Fender and Bobbie Lynn Slice.
