She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucia Florence Looney Samford and Thomas LeRoy Samford. She is survived by: her brothers, LeRoy, Jack and Pierre Samford; her half-sister Geraldine Galbraith Collier; her spouse Cecil Tekell; her daughter Brenda Kay Blackerby Hiler (Mark Hiler); her granddaughters, Sally Hiler Cone (Matthew Cone) and Susan Hiler Ovalles (Miguel Ovalles) of Santa Fe, NM; her son Kelly Lane Blackerby (Vicki); her grandson Alex Blackerby (Amanda); and her great grandchildren, Andrew Blackerby (San Angelo), Hess, Mark Cone, Newt, Katy Blackerby, Roman and Ruel Ovalles.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Lakeview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to West Texas Rehabilitation Hospice in San Angelo.
