He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Phillips (Eubanks); his parents, Ray Phillips and Almeta Phillips; his brother Kenneth "Curly" Phillips; and his stepgranddaughter Allison Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Jayne Basse of Dallas, TX and Shannon Phillips (Jeff Johnson) of Allen, TX; his granddaughters, Audrey Basse of Dallas, TX and Valerie Garcia-Ortiz (Fernando Garcia-Ortiz) of Cypress, TX; his great grandchildren, Declan and Ronan Garcia-Ortiz; his daughters, Elaine Thomas (Cliff Thomas) of Dallas, TX and Karen Beard (Kent Beard) of Houston, TX.; his grandsons, Bryce Thomas (Diana Thomas) of Sterling City, TX and Carson Beard (Paige Beard) of Oklahoma; and his great grandchildren, James Thomas, Gizella Thomas, Esta Thomas, Sofia Beard and Lillian Beard.
