She was predeceased by : her husband Ramon Santellanes Jr.; her parents, Rev. Norberto and Natividad Garza; her father-in-law Ramon Santellanes; and her brother-in-law Javier "Jerry" Santellanes.

She is survived by : her children, Jerry Cervantez (Carolyn), Mida Santellanes (Rudy Mendoza) and Ramon Santellanes III (Carolina); her sister Margarita "Margie" Andrade (Ramon); her grandchildren, Edward, Elijah, Amara and Xavier; and her pets, Gizmo, Chilingis, Patches and Queenie.

A service to celebrate Irma's life is pending due to the current pandemic.
