He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Powell and Johnnie Dell Powell; his wife Nancy Bryan Hunt Powell of Sonora; and his sister Madolyn Powell Mertz. He is survived by: his daughters, Lorrie Powell Uhl and Victoria Powell Johnson; his sons-in-law, Arthur Uhl and Ken Johnson; his grandchildren, James Uhl (Hannah), Elisabeth Kleberg (Elkin Kleberg), Scott Uhl, Leon Johnson, Eli Johnson and Carmen Johnson McClelland; his great grandchildren, Hunt Uhl, Bennett Uhl, Lorrie Kleberg, Faye Kleberg, Kenley McClelland and Parker McClelland; his friend Pam Hamilton; and his caregivers, Ida Luna, Mandy Sosa, Amanda Enriquez, Molly Robles, Monica Gutierrez, Becky Barnhard and Norma Ramirez.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Grace Christian Church (29 N Oakes St, San Angelo, TX 76903).
