He was predeceased by: his parents, Vicente Ramírez Aguilar and Santos Sánchez Barrientos; and his siblings, Guadalupe Ramírez, Antonio Ramírez, Lorenzo Ramírez and Javier Ramírez.
He is survived by: his wife Susana Peña Ramírez; and his sister Maria (Refugio Ramírez). He is also survived by his four children, ten grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
