He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Brooks, Sr. and Vora Mae Bowen Brooks; and his son Richard Eugene Brooks. He is survived by: his children, Shorty Brooks (Nancy) and Kathy Joiner Kerr; and his granddaughter Angela Helms. He is also survived by his mom and siblings while he worked the jobs his father.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Harper Funeral Home (2606 Southland Blvd, San Angelo, TX 76904). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209).
