She was predeceased by: her parents, Monroe Davis and Almeta Brown; her brothers, Clarence Edwards and James Skinner; her sons, Dennis Keith Carpenter, Andre Eve Carpenter, David Kennard Carpenter and Dwayne Kurt Carpenter, Sr.; and her grandson Dwayne Kurt Carpenter, Jr..
She is survived by: her husband David Harry Carpenter; her sons, Alex Rene Carpenter of San Antonio, Texas and Duke Kevin Carpenter of San Antonio, Texas; her daughters-in-law, Corean Carpenter of Houston and Aretta Carpenter of San Antonio, Texas; and her grandchildren, Tonya Carpenter, Shanesha Jackson, Candace Ellerbe (Duane), Michael Johnson, Ja'Net Carpenter, Walter Sanders III (Angela), Beverly Carpenter, Ivy Gooden (Kirk), Marlie Carpenter, Alexandria Saldana (Mario) and Laron Sanders. She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
