It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan Grigg of San Antonio, Texas, born in Winnfield, Louisiana, who passed away on December 17, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Joan leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her grandson Luke Spencer; her brother Leonard J. Willis, Jr.; and her brother-in-law Leonard Rhymes. She is survived by: her husband Ausie B. Grigg, Jr.; her siblings, Junita Rhymes and Charles Willis (Diane); and her sister-in-law Donna Willis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of the Army Residence. The inurnment will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Hebert Cemetery (6308 LA-561, Columbia, LA 71418).
