He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Thomas and Alberta Thomas; his wife Edna Marie Thomas; and his brothers, Joe Griffin, Jean Griffin and Jerry Thomas, Jr..

He is survived by: his daughter Marcia Denean Thomas Mullins; his son-in-law Vincent Mullins; and his granddaughter Brooklynn Denean Mullins. He is also survived by extended family members, friends, neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Leon Thomas.
