He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Katherine Krebs-Melendy and John Melendy; his wife Ann; and his siblings, Luther Melendy, Loren Melendy (Laverne), Betty Melendy-Gritz (Lairy) and Dorothy Melendy-Hawk (Donovan).
He is survived by: his children, Max Raymond Melendy (Peggy) of McLoud and Sharon Maxine Melendy of San Antonio, Texas.; his grandchildren, Drew Melendy-Fortney (John) and Kendall Melendy; his siblings, Dale Melendy, Allen Melendy (Maxine) of Hennessey and Mary Melendy-Hampton (Franke) of Versailles, Missouri; and also Jonas Fortney. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
