She was predeceased by: her parents, José Guadalupe and Dolores Rivas; her siblings, Juan Rivas, Esteban Rivas, Nico Rivas, Salvador Rivas, Guadalupe B. Rivas, Flora Rivas and Maria Rivas; and her siblings' children, Gilbert Rivas, Jose Junior Rivas, Juan "Nuno" Rivas Jr. and Norma Rivas.
She is survived by: her children, Veronica Rivas (Enrique Torres), Melissa Rivas (Roy Gamez) and Jose Rivas III. She is also survived by extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Thomae-Garza Funeral Home (395 S Sam Houston Blvd, San Benito, TX 78586). A rosary will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church (606 W Ocean Blvd, Los Fresnos, TX 78566).
