He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Rice and Alice Rice (Glassett); and his wife Joyce Bartholomew. He is survived by: his son Tim Rice (Lea) of San Marcos, TX; his granddaughter Kimberly Rice Palmer (James Palmer) of Ft. Mill, SC; and his great grandchildren, Tyler Palmer and Riley Palmer.
