He was predeceased by: his father William Carroll Akin. He is survived by: his mother Francine Schleicher Akin; his son Silas; his daughter-in-law Emily Akin; his grandson Winston Everett Akin; his siblings, Betty Clough, Sharon Bragg, Kathy Rogers and Daniel; his sister-in-law Michele Akin; and his wife Christa. He is also survived by his 12 nieces and nephews and their many children.
