He was predeceased by: his daughters, Erin Rose McCarty and Shannon Ruth McCarty. He is survived by: his wife Mary Joy McCarty; his children, Barry Lee McCarty and Heather McCarty Underwood (David) of San Marcos, Texas; his grandson Reed Underwood (Klarissa); his great grandchild Bennett; and his granddaughter Devyn Underwood of San Marcos.
His family requests that any donations be made in memorial of his legacy to the McCarty Student Center located at 506 N. Guadalupe St. San Marcos, Texas 78666.
