He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Gerald Simms and Kathleen Faye Rice Simms. He is survived by: his wife Regena Hunt Simms; his children, Kelly Lee Whitworth, Donna Lynn Smith (T. J.) and Danielle Simms Lucas; his stepsons, Isaac Heath (Michele) and David Heath (Jaime); and his siblings, James Michael Simms, Margaret Ann Jacques, Mary Lynn McLaughlin (Kelly) and Ruth Ellen Elgin. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
