It is with sadness that the passing of Hershel Boblow Burkes of Sanger, Texas is shared. Hershel, born on April 1, 1945, passed away on August 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Burkes and Evelyne Burkes; his children, David and Donna; and his wife Theresa Burkes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Baldwin and Lateresa "Leeann" Hunter; his siblings, Nolan, Betty Jean, Viola, Mary "Dinky", Evelyn "Honey", Edna "Hotshot", Darlene "Sissy" and Dicky; and his grandchildren, Steven, Megan, Kagan and Quaylynn. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home (705 N Locust St, Denton, TX 76201). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
