He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Ruby Josephine Dunning, Sr. (Davis); and his siblings, Barbara Ann Dunning, Deanna Dunning, Bessie Mays, Bill Dunning and Ray O'Neal.

He is survived by: his wife Kendra Dunning; his children, Jeff Dunning (Carla), Tommy E. Dunning (Courtney), William Dunning, Julie Soto (Carlos Sauceda) and Chalice Causey; and his brother Roy Dunning (Nancy). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
