It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernice Schaefer (Schertz, Texas), born in San Antonio, Texas, who passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Ernst Schaefer; her parents, Alvin Jenschke and Alma Jenschke; her sister Eunice Healton; and her great grandchild Niklas Welch.
She is survived by: her children, Suzanne [Mike] Kopatz, Alan Schaefer, Elizabeth Banks (Liz), Gary [Lyn] Schaefer, Barbara [Raul] Cabello and James [Kim Lewis] Schaefer; her siblings, Ruby Wildman, Norma Reininger, Clifton Jenschke (Ruby) and Margie Bendele (Franklin); and her granddaughter Lori Welch. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Heart Association.
