He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Guenther Rietz and Alma "Loth" Rietz; his wife Laura Aurelia Kaase; his caregiver Morris White; his children, Hermann, Patty Barter (Clarence), Brenda Purser (Nolan) and Larry Rietz (Camille); his grandchildren, Briana Purser (James Oswald), Forrest Purser (Kayla), Travis Barter (Jennifer), Jeanie Derdeyn (Cliff), Lauren Rietz and Nicholas Gayle; his great grandchildren, Audrey Derdeyn, Cade Derdeyn, Julien Oswald, Nolan Purser, Lucy Garcia and Avary Garcia; and his sister-in-law Mildred Bohac.
