He is survived by: his wife Margie Copeland; his children, Richard Copeland, Jr. (Glenda), Mark Murray, Darrell Murray (Kathy), Tammie Copeland Miller and Michelle Copeland Kipina; his siblings, Jimmy Copeland and Ruby Ozment; his grandchildren, Michael Murray (Kaylee), Melissa Schenkelberg (Eric), Elyza Copeland and Paul Copeland; and his great grandchild Gavin Murray. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
