He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Beaver and Rachel Carter Beaver; his wife Mary Ethel Holder; his in-laws, Orval and Prudence Holder; his siblings, Donald Bernes, Velta Bass, Vandlean Wittenebert, Evelyn Clark and Vivian Sprague; his children-in-law, Suzanne Beaver and Dale Bowman; his grandson Jordan Armstrong; and his great grandchildren, Dwight Beaver and Hiram Damron.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Jr. (Laurie), Orval Fred (Tammy), Jeanette Lorane Huckaby (Johnny), Audrey Dianne Bowman and Donald Dwayne (Fe). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 53 great‑grandchildren; 23 great‑great‑grandchildren.
