Joy E. Strey Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 18, 2022, at the age of 85, Joy E. Strey (Seguin, Texas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Herman Koepp and Willie Erna Koepp (Bohannon); her brother Carl Dwight Koepp; her nephew Carl Henry Koepp; her son-in-law Brian Walters; and her siblings-in-law, Henry Strey Jr., Marvin Huth and Gertrude Huth.
She is survived by: her husband Melvin Strey; her children, Kimberly Schlichting (Jeff), Kelly Lindholm (Jon) and Kurt Strey (Barbara); her grandchildren, Zachary Schlichting, Tucker Walters, Bode Walters, Briley Strey, Kinley Strey, Eric Lindholm, Meagan Prince and Ethan Strzelczyk; her sibling's children, Jason Koepp, Marshall Strey (Barbara), Shirley Winkelmann (Gerald), Sharon Schaefer (Ronnie), Deborah Price (Paul) and Karen Bradshaw (Paul); and her close friend Karen Borgfeld.
Her contributions to the volunteer fire department was acknowledged by being named Firefighter of the Year in 2012 and 2022 by the Guadalupe County Firefighters Association.
