She was predeceased by : her parents, R. J. Nelson, Sr. and Ida Erskine Nelson; her husband Johnny Redix, Sr.; her children, Johnny James Redix, Jr., Maggie B. Cockrum and Milton Redix; her granddaughter Jacqueline Lynn Adams Redix; and her siblings, Jenny Nelson Johnson, Reverend Roy Nelson, Jesse James Nelson, Sr., R. J. Nelson, Jr. and Ida Mae Nelson Freeman.
She is survived by : her grandchildren, Brenda Joyce Kelly, Kenneth Redix, La-Vee Redix Simmons "Terry" and Kevin Redix (Jennifer); her great grandchildren, Chanel Toya Cochran Lee "Chrischaun", Terry Simmons, Jr., Trey-Vel Simmons, Trent Simmons, Jacqueline Redix, Keslynn Redix and Lillian Redix; and her sister Emma Nelson Foster. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
