She is survived by : her husband Chester Eugene Tapp; and her sons, Perry, Wesley Tapp, Michael Tapp and David Tapp. She is also survived by her numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, friends.

Donald Smith wrote a sympathy message

“I hadn't seen Shirley for several years but prior to my wife's Judie passing in 2019 we had visited with Shirley and Chester often. Chester and I worked together in Dallas. I remember how they both loved to come over to our house for spaghetti dinners. I had a strange feeling just this past week as I was delivering for Meals On Wheels that Shirley had spoken to me somehow in spirit form that she had passed and was finally free. My Condolences to the family. REST IN PEACE my friend.”
