He was predeceased by: his parent Willie Ben; his wife Naomi Bell (Clinton); his mother Mae Bell (Bailey); his daughter Shirley Milner; and his sisters, Lila Shugart, Dorothy Beck, Ila Welch, Billie Jean Souther and Peggy Bury.
He is survived by: his sister Frances of Sanger; his children, David W (Jo) of Sherman and Mary Hunter (Charles) of St Albans, VT; his grandson David A (Gina) of Sherman; and his great grandchildren, Chris Bell of The Colony, Allison Boyd (Phillip II) of Sherman, Kelsey of Midland and Colton of Sherman. He is also survived by 5 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Retina Foundation of the Southwest, or to Victory Missionary Baptist Church.
