He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Whitaker and Jeraldine Whitaker (Baker); and his brother Bill Whitaker. He is survived by: his wife Leta McNatt of Sherman; and his children, Chad Whitaker (Gina) of Farmersville, Kelsey Owens of Frisco and Kalyn Entzel of Shreveport, Louisiana..

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Farmersville Historical Society or Perrin Air Force Base Historical Museum located at: 436 McCullum Denison, Texas 75020.
