He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Spears and Charlotte Spears; and his brother Bradford Spears. He is survived by: his wife Patty; his sons, Matthew William and Charles Joseph; his granddaughters, Melody Starr Spears and Laney Jean Murray; and his siblings, Betsy Spears Bamford and Russell Spears (Cathy).
