With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Robert Gates of Sherman, Texas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Huffaker Gates and Julia Thompson Gates; his stepfather Colonel Marvin F. Stalder; and his sister Betty Gates-Elston. He is survived by: his half-brother Dr. Stephen I. Gates of Lubbock. He is also survived by two nephews, and four nieces.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church (601 W Creek St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624).
