She was predeceased by: her parents, Jim Popplewell and Elizabeth Dixon Popplewell McMillan; her stepfather Alva McMillan; her siblings, Frederick Popplewell and Shirley McWhorter; and her half-brothers, Jim and Vic Popplewell.
She is survived by: her husband Gaylon Hightower; and her children, Curtis Hightower (Judy) of Sherman and Cindy Hightower Pointer (Darryl) of Sherman.
