It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Dennis Sofka of Shiner, Texas, who passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clement J. Sofka and Christie Pauline Stock Sofka; his sisters, Margie Sembera and Paula Korenek; and his brother-in-law Carroll Sembera.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Jean Sofka; his children, Julie Ann Smith, Brigid Lynette O'Mara, Colleen Renee Guevara (Patrick), Clement James Sofka (Carrie) and Matthew Wade Beal (Erin); his sisters, Joyce Johnson (Troy), Cathy Boedeker (Marvin), Donna Morgan (Mark) and Dianne Cameron (Pat); his grandchildren, Madison Smith (Princeton Rogers), Kirsten Smith, Hali O'Mara, Hayden O'Mara, Hunter O'Mara, Hannah Vega-Guevara (Alexis) and Luke Guevara; and his great grandchild Randy "Tripp" Austin.
