He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Ellen Smith Unger and Oliver Bernard Unger; his siblings, Frances Evans, Oliver Unger, Juanita Mason, Raymond Unger and Robert Unger; and his sons-in-law, Stephen Maher and Marlon Freeman.
He is survived by: his wife Kaye Unger; his children, Jeffrey Unger of Silsbee, Jodi Freeman of Kountze, Kelley Moulder (Tony) of Silsbee and Karen Maher of Smithville; and his sister-in-law LouAnn Unger of Waco. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Family and Friends Broussard's Mortuary (490 Cemetery Rd, Silsbee, TX 77656). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Broussard's (490 Cemetery Rd, Silsbee, TX 77656). A burial will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at the R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery South 3rd (490 Cemetery Rd, Silsbee, TX 77656).
