Earl Ard, 77, of Silsbee, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Silsbee, Texas on November 4, 1940.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He took pride in his work. He retired in 2005 from TEXDOT, after 46 years of service, where he was active in truck rodeos. He was always willing to give advice to anyone who would listen. He was always willing to help out and lend a hand. He was a person who loved to travel all over the country and all over the world. He enjoyed the outdoors, he liked hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed tending to his garden and keeping his yard nice. He loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Evia Ard; and grandson, Brian Wayne Drake, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Betty Ard; daughters, Katrina Terry and husband, Derrick and Renee Mitchell and husband, Hank; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
