We announce the death of Douglas MacArthur Wilkes in Silver, Texas, born in Sweetwater, Texas, who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 83. Douglas will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, C. T. Wilkes and Ruth Wilkes; and his brothers, Carroll Wilkes, Glen Wilkes, Monte Wilkes and Jerry Wilkes.
He is survived by: his son Jeff (Leticia); his grandchildren, Clint (Becky), Daylon and Rainy; his great grandchildren, Clay, Ryan, Stefan and Leanna; and his brothers, Pat (Susan) and Tom (June). He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (22 W 9th St, Robert Lee, TX 76945).
