Willman Eugene "Gene" Allen

Willman Eugene "Gene" Allen, age 69, of Silverton, Texas, passed away on September 25, 2026. Known to all for his quick humor and sharp wit, Gene brought laughter and personality wherever he went.
Gene proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1976 to 1980. Following his military service, he worked for Vermont American in Greenville, North Carolina, from 1980 until 1999. Beginning in 2004, Gene dedicated his career to the security field, serving communities in both Greenville, NC, and Amarillo, TX.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Lou Ellen Garris Allen; his three children: son Joshua Allen and wife Kate Stimac, daughter Tabithia Abbott-Allen and wife Amanda Abbott-Allen, and son Nehemiah Allen and wife Juli Allen; and his mother, Billie L. Allen. Gene leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Alexander, Leila, Lucy, Cora, Rowan, Zephaniah, and Ezra; his siblings, Rocco and Renee; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Gene’s presence, sense of humor, and memorable personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Quitaque Cemetery.
