He is survived by: his parents, Luisa Mares (Rodriguez) of Sinton, Texas and Martin Mares, Sr.; his children, Katalyna Mares of Sinton, Angeliena Mares, Reina Mares of Corpus Christi, Texas and Alaina Mares; his stepson Ariel Mares of Corpus Christi, Texas; and his siblings, Oscar Mares, Jerry Mares, Angel Mares of Sinton, Texas, Ana Mares of Odem, Esperanza Mares of Corpus Christi and Maria Mares of Sinton, Texas. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home-Sinton (606 S San Patricio St, Sinton, TX 78387). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel (606 S San Patricio St, Sinton, TX 78387). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Church-Odem (401 W Willis St, Odem, TX 78370). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Eternal Rest Cemetery (801 N Vineyard Ave, Sinton, TX 78387).
