He was predeceased by: his parent Lola Imogaene Wherry; and his brother Mike. He is survived by: his wife Lucia Blanco-Smith of Sinton; his stepchildren, Rachel Gill of San Antonio and Lupe Torres of Sinton; and his grandchildren, Joshua Flores (Marissa), Christopher Flores (Cassie Farias), Abigail Flores, Nicholas Alvarez (Adrianna), Nichole Alvarez, Rita Gill, Ricardo Gill (Crystal), Thomas Gil (Teresa), Tiffany Clyne and Jose Lopez. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Ritchea-Gonzales Funeral Home (120 S McCall Ave, Sinton, TX 78387). A rosary was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, April 25th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (906 E Sinton St, Sinton, TX 78387).
