She was predeceased by: her parents, James Dee Copeland and Belva "Jodie" Bryan; her husband Roger A. LeCount; her son William "Chucky" Black; and her siblings, Jerry, Oscar Copeland and Faye Kates.

She is survived by: her children, Debra Staples McDearman, Gail Staples Luna, Ronnie Dee Staples and June Staples Williams; her granddaughter Brittany Garza; and her great grandchild Isabell Luna. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
