She was predeceased by : her parents, Homer Garmes and Emma Garmes; her husband James W. Thomas; her son Wayne Thomas; her grandson Chris Brown; and her brothers, Cotton and Herb Haarmyer.

She is survived by : her children, Homer Brown, Mary Thomas and Kary Callen (Wesley); her sisters, Lois Willis and June Minyard (Ray); and her friend Penny Morava. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
